Assists the IEP team in implementing academic and behavioral objectives for special education students. Maintains instructional materials and student records while ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.

We're seeking a compassionate and dependable Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with diverse learning needs in an alternative education environment. Working alongside our Special Education team, you'll help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning experience that empowers students to reach their individual goal
Assists IEP Team in evaluating special education student progress and/or implementing IEP objectives.
Implements academic instruction designed by a teacher for individuals or small groups.
Implements behavioral plans designed by IEP team for students with behavior disorders or other special conditions.
Maintains instructional materials and/or student files/records (e.g. adapting instructional materials, student files, checking papers, attendance, audio visual equipment, set up art/science projects, etc.).
Monitors special education students for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
Communicates with and works with surrounding school districts to retrieve and provide Special Education documents.
Ability to connect with students to motivate them in a positive manner.
Ability to communicate with co-workers and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
Ability to exercise reasonable judgment and maintain confidentiality.
Working knowledge of IEPs, 504 Plans, and best practices for supporting students with disabilities.
