The teacher is responsible for safely escorting 3K and 4K students from a local public school to the Goddard School facility. Once on-site, they lead afternoon routines including snack time, active play, enrichment activities, and evening dismissal.
Candidates must have previous experience working with 3 and 4-year-old children and the physical stamina to walk outdoors in various weather conditions. CPR/First Aid certification and passing state/local childcare licensing background checks are required.

Are you energetic, organized, and passionate about working with early childhood learners? The Goddard School is seeking a dedicated Wrap-Around Program Teacher to lead our afternoon transition and after-school program for 3k and 4k students. In this role, you will be the vital link between the local district elementary school and our facility, ensuring our youngest learners have a safe, fun, and enriching afternoon. Key Responsibilities: Safe Transition & Escort: Walk to local school (within five blocks) daily to pick up our 3K and 4K students. Protocol Management: Strictly follow and execute all designated sign-out and security procedures established by the host public school. Safety First: Responsibly and safely escort children on the sidewalk back to the Goddard School. Afternoon Program Leadership: Once back at Goddard, you will lead the afternoon routine, which includes: Supervising a nutritious afternoon snack time. Facilitating active play and gross motor development during indoor gym time. Leading fun, age-appropriate enrichment activities Providing gentle homework help and guidance as needed Dismissal: Safely manage the evening dismissal process, greeting parents and sharing positive updates about their child's day. Qualifications and Skills Experience: Previous experience working with 3 and 4-years old children (school settings, camp or childcare preferred). Reliability & Punctuality: Crucial for managing strict public school dismissal times. Physical Stamina: Ability to walk outdoors in various weather conditions for the daily school pickup and safely manage active preschoolers.
Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with public school staff, Goddard leadership, and parents.
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Must meet all state and local childcare licensing background check requirements.
