Market context

California mod/severe elementary roles stay competitive

In California, elementary Special Education Teacher / Education Specialist roles in moderate-to-severe settings are typically driven by ongoing district needs for credentialed educators who can support students with significant learning, communication, and behavioral needs. These positions are competitive because employers often look for both the required bachelor’s degree and credential or permit eligibility, plus experience with students with disabilities and culturally responsive, anti-racist practice. Review the AI-summarized requirements and benefits here to save time, then confirm the exact credential pathway and highlight any relevant classroom, IEP, or support-service experience in your application.
