Description

Kingsley is looking for a MANDARIN LESSON TEACHER, After School Program for beginning & intermediate students Grades K-6 (ages 5-12). (Please note that experience working with and teaching very young students is required for this position). We seek teachers with a holistic approach to education that emphasizes thorough instruction in vocabulary, grammar and syntax, pronunciation, and reading and writing comprehension, alongside the integration of cultural components. Students will be guided to take ownership of their own practice regimen. Hours vary between 3-6PM Monday-Friday based upon enrollment and teacher availability. Lesson teachers will give one-on-one weekly lessons to each of their scheduled students.

Qualifications

■ Bachelor’s Degree ■ Experience with a variety of instructional methods and multi-age learning environments ■ Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum design and development ■ Commitment to meeting the needs of each student ■ Commitment to professional growth and best practices in education

Resume and cover letter describing your interest in the position with an overview of your background and experience Example lesson plans for beginner and intermediate students A 6- to 8-week trajectory plan for a student's lessons Demonstration of fluency Teaching demonstration video of a 30-minute one-on-one lesson with a student age 5-12 (NOTE: This video is a required portion of the interview process but does not need to be submitted until later in the process if additional time is needed to prepare this portion.) Kingsley is committed to equitable compensation for all employees. Salaries for private lesson teachers are $65/hourly. Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree and have experience teaching very young students in multi-age environments. Fluency in Mandarin and demonstrated knowledge of curriculum development are required.
