The School Psychologist conducts psychological assessments across academic and behavioral domains to support student placement and IEP development. They collaborate with staff and families to implement interventions and facilitate Committee on Special Education meetings.
The School Psychologist is responsible for the psychological assessment of students across academic, social, emotional, and behavioral domains utilizing problem-solving methods and standardized evaluations. This position supports the development and oversight of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), participates in problem-solving meetings, and collaborates with staff, families, students, and community partners to maximize student success in educational environments.
Department The H.G. Lewis Campus School provides specialized educational programming and therapeutic support services for students with emotional, behavioral, and educational needs. The program focuses on individualized instruction, trauma-informed care, and collaborative support systems that promote student growth and success.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to work effectively with youth, families, staff, and community contacts from diverse backgrounds. Ability to support youth and families using trauma-informed approaches. Strong collaboration and communication skills across multiple formats including meetings, email, phone, and written documentation. Ability to accept supervision and function as part of a multidisciplinary team. Flexibility and adaptability in educational and therapeutic settings. Valid NYS driver’s license, adequate auto insurance, and compliance with agency driving policies. Ability to pass annual physical for Category 2 job classification. Compliance with agency safety and workplace standards.
Master’s degree required, with a major in Special Education or Counseling preferred. NYS Certification as a School Psychologist required.
