Little Friends child care program, located on the campus of Friends School of Baltimore, has an opening for a substitute teacher. We are looking for individuals who can provide quality care for children ages 6 weeks to 4 years of age, all while making education fun and creative.
Primary Responsibilities
Substitute for and assist Co-Teacher with all aspects of daily classroom activities, including age-appropriate curriculum planning, health, and safety, actively supervise children at all times, and open communication with a team of teachers and with families.
Encourages children's emotional, social, and physical development and positive self-concept. Create a nurturing, enriching, age-appropriate learning environment for the classroom.
Work collaboratively with the teaching team, administrators, and specialists.
Assist with observing and documenting the children's progress and development.
Learn, understand, and embrace the Quaker aspect of the school and use it daily through Morning Meetings, curriculum, classroom management, and all parent/child/employee interactions.
Greet the parents and build rapport; communicate with them about their child's day daily.
Participate in staff meetings, professional development days, and teacher training.
Cleans and sanitizes toys, furniture, and play equipment.
Adhere to all school rules and policies.
Maintain a neat and professional image at all times.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Candidates must be at least 19 years old with a high school diploma or GED and 1-2 years of experience with infants and toddlers. Required certifications include CPR, ADA, Basic Health and Safety, and Covid Safety.
