About Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC)

Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) is a nonprofit organization serving children and families across Oregon through early education and family support programs. At OCDC, our work has purpose. Every role contributes to creating stronger families, healthier communities, and brighter futures for children across Oregon.

Position Summary

  • Ensures, supports, and promotes each child’s safety, health, and development in cooperation with their parents and other early childhood professionals in a manner consistent with the Head Start Performance Standards, USDA, and day care licensing regulations. Plans and develops a developmentally and culturally appropriate curriculum which meets the needs of the children and families. Essential Functions:
  • Ensure the safety, health, and development of infants and toddlers in a nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment
  • Plan and implement culturally responsive curriculum aligned with Head Start Performance Standards and licensing requirements
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment; supervise children at all times
  • Complete developmental screenings, observations, assessments, and individualized learning plans
  • Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and specialists to support each child’s development
  • Conduct home visits and parent-teacher conferences to discuss child progress and goals
  • Participate in case management, staff meetings, trainings, and program planning activities
  • Provide guidance, support, and direction to classroom staff, assistant teachers, and volunteers
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and required program records
  • Promote positive nutrition practices, health, and safety standards
  • Support family engagement, communication, and parent involvement activities
  • Maintain confidentiality of child and family information
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies using First Aid and CPR; participate in drills
  • Support transportation and field trip activities as required
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance
  • Perform other related duties as assigned Education and Experience Requirements: Infant/Toddler Teacher C - $22.42-$24.92 hourly ($25.01-$27.40 hourly in Metro locations) High School Diploma, GED, or Diploma de Educacion Secundaria AND Infant Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate Or One year Oregon community college certificate1 in field WITH training or coursework in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development. Infant/Toddler Teacher A - $23.99- $26.65 hourly ($26.38- $29.32 hourly in Metro locations) Associate’s degree or higher in Early childhood education or child development WITH training or coursework in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development Or Any field and coursework equivalent2 to a major relating to early child hood education or child development WITH training or coursework in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development. Infant/Toddler Teacher B - $25.67- $28.52 hourly ($29.42- $31.37 hourly in Metro locations) Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early childhood education or child development WITH training or coursework in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development; Or Any field and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education or child development with training or coursework in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development. Placement within the range is determined by factors such as relevant experience, skills, certifications, and internal equity. 1 Oregon Registry Step 8 or higher per certificate or college courses pathway 2 Oregon Registry Step 9 or higher per degree or college courses pathway 3 Oregon Registry Step 10 or higher per degree or college courses pathway Metro locations include Washington County and Multnomah County sites. Placement within the range is determined by factors such as relevant experience, skills, certifications, and internal equity.
