The teacher provides instruction and guidance to youth with special needs based on Individual Education Plans (IEP) and recognized curriculum standards. The role focuses on creating a safe learning environment that encourages academic achievement and social-emotional growth.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field and maintain a current SPED/ESE Teaching Certification. Experience in teaching or coursework in the primary instruction area is required, with a preference for experience working with high-risk youth.
The ESE/SPED Teacher role provides instruction and guidance to youth within the appropriate grade and/or academic level. Assess and teach youth with special needs in accordance to recognized curriculum standards, and compliance with instructional guidelines as defined by the local School District and educational systems. Primary objective is the realization of AMIkids mission to provide a safe and successful learning environment for youth, while encouraging social and emotional development through the achievement of academic and personal goals.
