Support emerging adults in improving their mental health through experiential therapies and life skills mentoring. Ensure students maintain hygiene and chores while facilitating social skill development in a positive milieu.
Requires a High School Diploma or GED and a minimum age of 21. Prior experience working with young adults in mental health or counseling settings is required.
Ensure all students have finished their assigned chores–including cleaning of the team home–and taken care of their personal hygiene Demonstrate patience and calm demeanor under pressure Maintain firm boundaries with students Show empathy and compassion towards students Form a bond with students based on trust Ability to mentor young adults in life skills to foster independent living Promote a fun and positive atmosphere in our “Milieu” for social skill development Collaborate with a team to facilitate students' healing process Accompany students on outings and adventure therapy sessions Engage in animal-assisted therapy to simulate foster/adoption experiences and promote healthy attachments
High School Diploma or GED required Minimum age requirement: 21 years Prior experience working with young adults required, preferably in another mental health setting or in similar roles like camp/college/career counseling or Big Brother/Sister program. Able to pass State and Federal background checks Able to pass physical and perform duties of the position
