A Teacher supports each child and their family’s development toward full participation across all settings. The Teacher enhances a nurturing, supportive and developmentally appropriate environment to children and their families in a variety of settings.
Accountabilities of a Teacher
Utilizes positive approaches and proactive strategies to guide children’s behaviors, diffuses situations or safety intervenes, in accordance with SPIN’s policies and procedures.
Assists children to have the best possible health by caring for their hygiene, diapering and toileting needs by teaching skills and/or providing families with supports and information on healthy lifestyles.
Assures the child receives all prescribed medication as per the medication administration policy and documents all medication administration according to protocols as required.
Completes daily attendance and meal counts.
Participates in Emergency Preparedness Procedures and completing safety checks as applicable.
Assures children receive sixty minutes of outdoor or gross motor activities daily.
Communicates positively, sensitively and effectively with children family members and co-workers by using person first language, confidentiality and ethical practices.
Encourages family involvement and enhance family connections by utilizing the Remind Application, email, calendars, family activity days and conferences.
Develops weekly lesson plan and individualized goals for the children using the SPIN’s approved curriculum and in accordance to the PA Learning Standards.
Completes assessment tools on children covering all developmental areas of learning to gather data to determine a child’s outcomes, needs, preferences and assists families on an ongoing basis with transitional needs of all children and families.

Monday-Friday 7: 30am-3:30pm 40 Hours weekly/52 Weeks
Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED. Additional qualifications such as a CDA Certificate, School Age Credential, or Early Childhood Education credits are preferred for higher pay.
