Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to plan and implement a curriculum that meets the emotional, physical, cognitive, and social needs of preschool children. Maintain an organized classroom environment and document children's growth and learning through various school vehicles.
Greets each child in a warm and friendly manner; Provides and supervises activities which promote the emotional, social, intellectual and physical development of each child; Provides and maintains a neat, organized classroom, with a learning center focus ensuring classroom is set up prior to arrival and cleaned up after dismissal daily; take responsibility for upkeep of all educational equipment and materials; Attends to childrens play, engages in reflection and discussion about childrens growth and learning, respond to childrens play themes and developmental themes; Documents childrens play and learning, including daily reflections, journey binders, blog, newsletters and other vehicles implemented by the school; Reads each individual childs files in his/her class and is knowledgeable about their medical and developmental histories; Nurtures physical, spiritual, emotional, social, cognitive and literary growth and development of each child; Performs additional program duties as assigned by the Lead Teacher and Director according to the school and agency needs. Three (3) years experience in group education of children; Associate's Degree & 45 hour DCF training course in child care or the educational exemption granted by the training coordinating agencies, when applicable; Completes a minimum of ten (10) hour or one (1) CEU in-service training per year starting July 1st and ending June 30th each year; Meet Florida Department of Health requirements for teaching in an Early Childhood Learning Center; CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to acquire it; Working knowledge of the growth and development of young children and ability to utilize this information in the classroom; Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to work constructively with children and adults; Judaic knowledge or willingness to acquire this knowledge through study; Ability to relate to young children and adults in an emotionally responsive manner; Be sensitive to individual childrens differences and needs, and be willing to adjust the program to meet those individual needs.
