Plan and lead yoga classes for individuals and groups. Adapt instruction to accommodate participants of varying ages, abilities, and physical limitations. Demonstrate proper yoga techniques, breathing exercises, and body alignment. Provide modifications and alternative poses to ensure participant safety. Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive class environment. Arrive prior to scheduled classes to prepare the room and necessary equipment. Maintain attendance records as required. Ensure the yoga space remains clean, organized, and safe before and after each class. Communicate effectively with participants and answer questions regarding class activities. Immediately report any participant injuries, incidents, or safety concerns to management. Maintain participant confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and company policies when applicable. Participate in staff meetings and training as requested. Represent Lumera Healthcare professionally at all times. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Health Promotion, Wellness, or a related field is preferred. Experience Previous experience teaching yoga classes preferred. Experience working with adults, seniors, or individuals with behavioral or physical health needs is preferred. Certifications Required: Current Yoga Instructor Certification from a nationally recognized organization (RYT 200 or higher preferred). Current CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire). Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong knowledge of yoga principles, techniques, and body mechanics. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate and encourage participants. Ability to adapt instruction for various fitness and mobility levels. The instructor may occasionally travel between Lumera Healthcare locations or community partner sites. Schedule This is a part-time position with flexible hours based on class schedules and participant demand. Evening and weekend availability may be required.
