About the role

The School Psychologist conducts psychological assessments and determines Special Education eligibility to maximize student outcomes. They provide direct behavioral supports, manage IEP and ARD documentation, and guide academic and behavioral interventions across assigned campuses.

School Psychologist Role Mission

  • The School Psychologist is a key member of the Special Programs team and partners with regional instructional leaders, campus leaders, and teachers to maximize student outcomes. As the School Psychologist, you will be responsible for demonstrating knowledge and skill in assessment, determining Special Education eligibility, providing academic and behavioral interventions, following state and federal legal frameworks for Special Education, and ensuring compliance with all facets of Special Education. You will help a portfolio of 1-2 campuses, supporting students and parents through problem solving interventions with students who may be struggling both academically and behaviorally. In addition, you will provide students with direct behavioral supports and track student progress towards IEP goals.

  • Duties: Provide guidance and oversight to special education teachers and multidisciplinary teams in drafting, finalizing, and implementing compliant IEPs and ARD documentation, ensuring instructional alignment and high-quality academic, behavioral, and social programming, with 100% compliance for Initial, Annual, and Reevaluation timelines. Collaborate with Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and related service providers (VI, O&M, DHH, APE, PT) to ensure timely completion of ARD paperwork and delivery of services as written, while following correct procedures for maintaining records and documentation. Conduct multidisciplinary Full and Individual Evaluations (FIEs), reevaluations, College Board accommodation evaluations, and psychological assessments (including Autism and Emotional Disability), adhering to current professional testing standards and best practices. Support campuses in Tier I–III problem-solving by guiding academic and behavioral interventions, ensuring accurate tracking and documentation, and conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). Provide counseling services including session documentation, service tracking, crisis counseling when needed, CPI implementation/de-escalation planning, and campus guidance for students experiencing emotional or behavioral crises. Ensure counseling services are delivered and documented appropriately, meeting service requirements and maintaining compliance with district expectations. Support campuses with Section 504 processes including eligibility determinations, meetings, Manifestation Determinations, Homebound services, and intervention planning. Additional

Additional Skills: Required Education and Experience: · Master’s degree in psychology from an accredited college or university · Valid Texas license as a School Psychologist granted by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists · School Psychologist interns accepted with proof of eligibility Preferred Education and Experience: Physical Requirements: · Must be able to sit for extended periods of time without being able to leave the work area. · Must be able to climb ladders or scaffolding, or climb and work in overhead areas · Must be able to work in a confined space or to crawl or move about on hands and knees. · Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 20 pounds (regularly/occasionally) · Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, running and climbing stairs. · Must be able to lift and carry small children up to 40 pounds in case of emergency. · Must be able to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including in times of excessive heat or cold

  • Compensation & Benefits: Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $74,700 and $87,100, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment. Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's degree in psychology and a valid Texas license as a School Psychologist. Proficiency in conducting FIEs, FBAs, and managing compliant special education documentation is required.
