About the role

Assist the head coach in directing a competitive collegiate swimming and diving program, focusing on student-athlete recruitment and development. Responsibilities include managing travel, scheduling, budgets, and ensuring compliance with NCAA Division III and GNAC policies.

The University of Saint Joseph is seeking a part-time Diving Coach to support and develop its NCAA Division III diving program through technical instruction, practice planning, meet support, and recruiting. This position offers flexible work hours and scheduling to accommodate the successful candidate's availability.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct diving practices in alignment with the Head Swimming & Diving Coach
  • Provide technical instruction and individualized feedback for 1m and 3m springboard divers
  • Assist with meet preparation, competition coaching, and travel as needed
  • Support recruiting efforts, including communication with prospective student-athletes
  • Promote a positive team culture that emphasizes accountability, sportsmanship, and academic success
  • Assist with program operations as assigned (equipment, meet support, communication)

Qualifications

  • Competitive diving experience (collegiate preferred)
  • Prior coaching experience at the high school, club, or collegiate level
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends during the season
  • Commitment to NCAA Division III philosophy
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Compensation: seasonal stipend
