About the role

The Sr. Classroom Assistant supports lead teachers in implementing academic and recreational activities within the classroom. They provide direct support to students participating in camp activities at the Linda Ray Intervention Center.

The University of Miami's College of Arts and Sciences has an exciting opportunity for a full time Sr. Classroom Assistant to work in Miami, FL. The Sr. Classroom Assistant will work in the Linda Ray Intervention Center, as a member of the center’s Multidisciplinary Educational team providing training, screening, evaluation, and interventions to young children with disabilities or developmental delays, primarily from underserved communities.

Core responsibilities: Assist Lead Teachers in the implementation of academic and recreational activities within the classroom Provide support to students in participation in all camp activities This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary.

Qualifications: High school diploma and/or GED Three years of relevant work experience Some experience working with children is preferred (including tutoring, babysitting, etc.) Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered. “This position requires a screening through the Clearinghouse.
