What you'll do

As a Faculty Instructor, you'll prepare students to become competent, confident Certified Nurse Assistants (CNAs) by providing engaging classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction.

Responsibilities

include:

  • Teach theory, laboratory skills, and/or clinical instruction
  • Prepare students for the California CNA certification examination
  • Mentor and encourage transitional age youth and adult learners from diverse backgrounds
  • Evaluate student competency and provide constructive feedback
  • Maintain attendance and required documentation
  • Foster a positive, professional learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with the RN Program Director and instructional team
  • Ensure compliance with California Department of Public Health (CDPH) requirements

Qualifications

  • Rn applicants
  • Active California RN license
  • Minimum two years of nursing experience
  • Meets California CDPH instructor qualifications
  • Passion for education and mentorship
  • Lvn applicants
  • Active California LVN license
  • Minimum two years of nursing experience
  • Meets California CDPH instructor qualifications
  • Experience supervising CNAs preferred

Teaching experience is welcome but not required.

Requirements

Candidates must be a licensed RN or LVN with a Director of Staff Development (DSD) certificate and CDPH approval. A minimum of two years of nursing experience is required, including one year of direct patient care in a long-term care facility and previous teaching experience.
