Ascend is seeking dedicated Resource Specialists / Special Education Teachers to support students with diverse learning needs across school settings, including alternative and non-traditional programs. This role focuses on delivering individualized instruction, supporting IEP goals, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to drive student success. Key Responsibilities: Provide specialized academic instruction to students with mild to moderate disabilities, aligned with IEP goals and California State Standards Design and implement individualized and small-group instruction using evidence-based strategies Conduct formal and informal assessments to guide instruction and monitor student progress Develop, implement, and manage IEPs in compliance with IDEA and local guidelines, including progress reporting Collaborate with general education staff, service providers, and families to support student achievement and inclusion Utilize technology and adaptive tools to enhance access to curriculum Implement positive behavior supports and classroom management strategies that foster a safe, inclusive learning environment Support transition planning, including post-secondary goals and vocational readiness (as applicable) Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with state and district requirements Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school-based initiatives
Valid California - Educational Specialist Instruction Credential - Mild/Moderate Disabilities or Moderate to Severe or Early Childhood Special Education Credential Added Authorization - Autism EL Authorization.
