About the role

The Fitness Specialist provides group and individual exercise instruction and education for various health programs, including Cardiac Rehab and Bariatric fitness. They are also responsible for coordinating specific programs and assisting in the daily operations of the Healthworks department.

Overview

The Fitness Specialist provides group and individual instruction and education to participants varying in age, ability and health status in the following programs: Cardiac Rehab, Safeway to Fitness, Personal Training, Transitional Exercise, Group Exercise, Youth Fitness, Bariatric, general membership and other programs offered through the department. The Fitness Specialist also coordinates one or more of these programs and assists the Healthworks team in the day to day operations of the department. Basic Life Support Required. Licensure: Certified Personal Trainer Or Certified Exercise Specialist Preferred Education

Bachelor's Degree Healthcare Or Physical Education Or Exercise Science Required Experience

2 Years Fitness or Other Clinical Exercise In Healthcare Preferred

Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Physical Education, or Exercise Science is required, along with Basic Life Support certification. Preference is given to candidates with a Certified Personal Trainer or Certified Exercise Specialist credential and 2 years of clinical exercise experience.
