The Lead Teacher is responsible for preparing and implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans and maintaining a safe, organized classroom environment. They must also manage child assessments, portfolios, and maintain professional rapport with families through regular communication and conferences.
Meadows Montessori is a licensed childcare center seeking an energic Montessori Qualified Primary Teacher for our Pre-K program!
To be QUALIFIED for this position, all candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree or Higher, AMI, AMS, or MACTE Montessori certification and Evaluation of Qualification by the Office of Child Care (90-Hour completed); You need a High School Diploma or equivalent, depending on center size, you generally need 6 semester hours or 90 clock hours of approved early childhood education coursework (45 hours in child development and 45 hours in curriculum. A fingerprint background check (Live Scan) is required before you can be left alone with children. Required Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm or 9:00 am - 5:30 pm
$23 - $26 hourly, based on education and experience

Our Hiring Process: Resume screen Phone screen with recruiter (30 minutes) On-site interview with Center Director (30-60 minutes) Q&A Classroom observation Offer Main Job Responsibilities: Prepare lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate one week in advance using current curriculum guides.
Implement lesson plans/curriculum on a weekly basis covering all areas of child development and carry out lesson plans according to classroom schedule/daily routine; Use our parent communication app efficiently.
Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child, responding to their emotional needs; and maintaining an organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom.
Maintain a child assessment and portfolio for each child, as well as conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences during the month of November and May.
Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.
