What You'll Be Doing Teach swim lessons to children and adults of all ages and skill levels. Create a safe, fun, and encouraging learning environment during every class. Instruct participants using YMCA swim lesson curriculum and teaching techniques. Ensure all pool and safety guidelines are followed at all times. Build positive relationships with swimmers and their families. Prepare lesson equipment before class and store it properly afterward. Encourage participants, celebrate progress, and help swimmers achieve their goals. Represent the YMCA's mission and core values through every interaction. QualificationsRequirements Current YMCA or American Red Cross certifications in CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration, or the abiity to obtain required certifications through YMCA-provided training before employment. Willingness to attend required trainings and staff meetings. Ability to arrive prepared and ready to teach each scheduled lesson. Expectations Deliver safe, engaging, and high-quality swim lessons. Maintain a positive and encouraging learning environment. Follow all YMCA aquatic safety standards and emergency procedures. Arrive on time and prepared for every class. Communicate professionally with participants, parents, and fellow staff. Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe pool environment. Requirements
