Provide behavioral support and intervention for children through individualized plans and evidence-based social-emotional learning practices. Coach and mentor teaching staff on classroom management and positive guidance techniques while collaborating with families and leadership.

Hourly Range $20.00-$25.00. Final compensation is based on factors such as the skills, qualifications, and experience.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Behavioral Support & Intervention
  • Supports families with identification and referral processes for individualized support (i.e. ISFP and IEP).
  • Conduct classroom observation to identify behavioral concerns, environmental factors, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop individualized behavior support plans using positive behavior intervention strategies
  • Implement evidence-based social-emotional learning practices that promote self-regulation, resilience and positive peer interactions.
  • Assist teachers in managing challenging behaviors while maintaining developmentally appropriate expectations.
  • Classroom Coaching
  • Coach and mentor teaching staff on positive guidance techniques, classroom management, conflict resolution and emotional regulation strategies.
  • Support teachers in conducting observations of classrooms modifications that encourage positive behaviors and reduce behavioral challenges.
  • Support in creating inclusive classroom environments that meet the diverse developmental needs of children.
  • Family Engagement
  • May provide support to ECE Leadership meeting with parents and guardians to discuss behavioral concerns, progress and available resources. Collaboration
  • Work closely with and support ECE staff up to and including the Sr. Youth Development Director, Youth Development Director, and ECE teachers.
  • Training & Development
  • In coordination with ECE Directors support the development and delivery of staff training on:

a) Positive behavior support b) Social-emotional learning c) Classroom management d) Inclusive teaching practices e) Developmentally appropriate behavioral expectations f) Onboarding of new teachers in behavioral management practices

  • Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain behavioral documentation, observations, and intervention records
  • Ensure confidentiality of all child and family information
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with state licensing regulations and program standards
  • Collect behavioral data to evaluate intervention effectiveness and identify program-wide trends

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to serve a diverse community.
  • Minimum of three (3) years in Early childhood education, child development, behavioral science, special education or a related field.
  • Knowledge of child development, infant and early childhood mental health and positive behavior support strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Multilingual
  • Experience providing behavioral interventions or classroom coaching
  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, psychology, social work, behavioral science, special education, or a related field.

Requirements

Requires at least three years of experience in early childhood education, behavioral science, or a related field. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field and multilingual skills are preferred.
