Job Overview

We are looking for experienced and passionate academic after-school class instructors who will deliver a comprehensive Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) program at elementary and middle school sites. You’ll engage students with hands-on activities that promote self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making, all while integrating literacy and fostering an inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to various academic levels. Establish and achieve academic and social-emotional goals with students. Document progress and communicate effectively with parents and staff. Maintain a supportive and motivating learning environment. Keep the classroom/ work area organized and clean.

Requirements

Instructor Qualifications: Associate Degree or completion of two years of study at an institution of higher education? Bachelor's Degree preferred. Fluency in English and Spanish Minimum of 2 years of teaching a class of 20 students Reliable transportation- the ability to arrive at work on time Fun, upbeat personality with strong interpersonal skills and passion for teaching and learning. Impeccable time management and organizational skills. Ability to work with students who learn differently, including those with ADD/ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)/mild, and gifted learners (experience working with neurodiverse students is a plus) Patience and empathy to support students facing various academic and personal challenges. Respect for students' cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, promoting an inclusive and supportive environment Must pass a background check CPR and First Aid Certificates Mandated Reporting Certificate Excellent references.
