We are currently in need of Full Time/Part Time staff person with vocational, special education, and employment experience background in Nassau County. The staff person will provide instruction to students in the areas of job-readiness, career planning, job-coaching, community access training, travel training, and services relating to transition for students in special education as well as individuals in department of labor work related programs.

The staff person will provide a wide array of vocational/transition services that includes job development. These services are performed in the school districts as well as in the community. The position also requires that all documentation, billing and interactions with school districts, ACCES-VR, and WIOA grants are on time, follow appropriate procedures and documents are constructed with care and quality. We are currently in need of full and part time Special Education Teacher approximately 25-30 hours per week, during the school hour day. Salary range $21.00-$37.00 per hour based on education and experience.
Must have at least 3 years working with individuals with disabilities BA preferred - Working towards Masters.
Certified Special Education Teacher, Certified School Guidance Counselor, MSW, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, MBA. Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), ABA Therapist or BCBA. Experience Human Service Professional.
Provide students/clients with a positive environment and effective counseling to assist them in achieving their career and community goals. Enable students/clients to be able to perform effectively in community-based worksites using the self-direction and other CEO instructional formats. Develop job opportunities for students and work with our Department of Labor programs to develop businesses to engage with our students and adults. Work with student/client’s families to ensure that they are active participants in the employment process. Effectively able to utilize and modify the CEO curriculum “Career Services for people in special education and beyond. Provide information and goal activity for any CSE or ACCES/VR planning meeting. Ensure documentation regarding activities that are planned have been implemented and reflect the documentation submitted. Prepare and report on and implement transition documents and outcomes for all students. (career plans, employability profiles, etc.)
