Position Summary

We are looking for life-long learners passionate about shaping students' hearts and minds. Join Great Hearts Academies, a growing network of 49 public, open-enrollment, tuition-free classical schools in Phoenix (AZ), Baton Rouge (LA), Dallas/Ft. Worth (TX), and San Antonio (TX). Great Hearts currently provides over 30,000 K-12 students with access to a high quality, classical liberal arts education. We believe the highest goal of education is to become good, intellectually and morally. partner universities Humane Letters at Great Hearts: The Humane Letters courses are central to the academies' classical liberal arts curricula: Two-hour seminar style courses focusing on great works of literature, history, and philosophy from the Western Tradition. Strong and deliberate focus on primary sources. Socratic approach and seminar style discussions in the classrooms. Our academies offer the following courses as a part of their curricula: Humane Letters I (focused on American studies with a strong history component - 9th grade) Humane Letters II (focused on European studies with a strong history component - 10th grade) Humane Letters III (focused on Ancient Greek/Roman studies with a strong philosophy component - 11th grade) Humane Letters IV (a capstone course surveying the Western tradition with a strong philosophy component - 12th grade) Roles and Responsibilities: Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty. Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner. Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment. Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships. Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching. Requirements
