Assist the head coach in managing a competitive women's volleyball program, including on-floor coaching and game day operations. Responsibilities include recruiting, scheduling, and monitoring the academic progress of scholar-athletes.
The Part-Time Assistant Coaches’ responsibilities include but are not limited to knowing and abiding by all University, NCAA, and Southern Athletic Association rules and regulations; coaching; assisting with practice and game plans; recruiting; monitoring scholar-athlete academic progress; and scheduling. The successful candidate must be highly motivated and have experience coaching in a competitive volleyball program. The successful candidate must also provide positive leadership in all aspects of the volleyball program and must possess strong interpersonal skills to interact professionally with all internal and external patrons. Other job duties and responsibilities are to be determined by the Head Coach and/or the Director of Athletics. Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree and previous coaching experience at the collegiate level are preferred. A valid driver's license is required. Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Successful candidates should also be knowledgeable of and committed to the rules and regulations of the NCAA, Title IX, and the SAA. The position will require the ability to demonstrate appropriate technical skills during practice; the ability to plan, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines while working on multiple tasks, ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Some travel is required. Work Environment/Physical Demands: This position requires work in a normal office environment as well as on a volleyball court, typically running, bending, crouching, and stooping.; use of tools requiring high dexterity is required, as well as the occasional lifting of up to 50lbs; use of office equipment, training equipment, and alternative work schedule is also required.
