High school diploma required with a bachelor’s degree in education or a related field preferred NY State Teaching Assistant Certification Level I required with Level II or III certification preferred Minimum of one to year of experience working with high school students, preferably in a school setting Prior experience working with youth experiencing substance use challenges, behavioral difficulties, or mental health needs preferred Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting students in a therapeutic and structured environment Ability to work effectively with students of varying abilities, diverse learning styles, and unique social emotional needs Proven ability to build positive, trusting relationships with students who require individualized academic and emotional supports Capacity to remain calm, flexible, and supportive under pressure while maintaining a safe and encouraging classroom culture
This is a full-time non-exempt role with an hourly rate of $20.88-$22.00 per hour (annualized to $38,000-$40,040 at 35 hours per week) with a full benefits package. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, access to a retirement account with an employer to match, and tuition reimbursement. This role is located in Huntington Station, NY and has a schedule of Monday-Friday 8am-4pm.
