Lucy School is seeking a warm, enthusiastic, and engaging Part-Time American Sign Language (ASL) Teacher to introduce students to American Sign Language and Deaf culture. This position is ideal for a beginning teacher, graduate student, or community educator who is passionate about making language learning fun, meaningful, and accessible for children.

Teach ASL classes to students from Preschool through Middle School (age groups assigned based on experience). Develop engaging lessons that introduce basic ASL vocabulary, grammar, and conversational skills. Incorporate stories, games, music, movement, and hands-on activities into instruction. Help students develop an appreciation for Deaf culture, history, and the diverse experiences of the Deaf community. Collaborate with classroom teachers and school administrators to support an integrated educational experience. Create a welcoming, inclusive classroom environment where all students feel encouraged to participate.
Familiarity with American Sign Language and Deaf culture. Ability to communicate effectively in ASL. Experience working with children is preferred but not required. Beginning teachers are encouraged to apply. Strong interpersonal skills, creativity, and enthusiasm for teaching. Reliable, organized, and committed to creating an engaging learning environment.
Coursework or certification in ASL, Deaf Studies, Education, or a related field. Experience teaching or tutoring children.
