Our Approach to MI Center Support At RMP, Multi-Intensive (MI) Center Paraprofessionals play a vital role in ensuring scholars with significant cognitive, behavioral, and communication needs experience rigorous, joyful, and fully accessible learning.

Rooted in Rocky Mountain Prep’s commitment to equity, love, and high expectations, you provide highly individualized academic, behavioral, communication, and daily living support aligned to each scholar’s IEP, implementing intensive behavior and sensory plans, supporting AAC and other communication systems, reinforcing structured routines, and delivering personal care with dignity and respect.

Through trauma-informed practices, strong collaboration with teachers and service providers, and an unwavering belief in every scholar’s potential, you help create a safe, inclusive environment where scholars feel seen, valued, and empowered, building foundational skills, independence, and confidence to grow, connect, and thrive.

MI Center Paraprofessionals at Rocky Mountain Prep will...

Support instruction and student learning by implementing lesson plans, providing accommodations/modifications, collecting data, and working with individuals or small groups under teacher direction.

Reinforce routines, behavior expectations, and social-emotional skills to promote student independence and uphold classroom and school-wide systems.

Supervise students to ensure safety during all parts of the school day, including transitions, lunch, recess, and arrival/dismissal.

Collaborate and communicate professionally with lead teachers, school staff, and families to support student success and school goals.

Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and equity-minded practices that honor student dignity and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Provides personal and medical care as trained (e.g., toileting, hygiene, monitoring) while maintaining student dignity and safety Implements intensive behavior plans and de-escalation strategies using trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate practices Supports communication systems (including AAC), functional life skills, and instructional activities by proactively meeting student needs and taking initiative within daily routines Remains flexible and responsive in a fast-paced MI setting, using feedback and creative problem-solving to adapt supports and continuously improve practice All Instructional Support Team Members at Rocky Mountain Prep: Deliver targeted support that accelerates student growth, particularly for those with specialized learning needs or unfinished literacy skills.

They partner with teachers and leaders to ensure every scholar has access to rigorous, affirming, and inclusive instruction.

Qualifications

Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and be eligible to work in the United States. Previous experience with students with disabilities and CPI/NCI training are preferred.
