  • Date: 08/13/2026 Performs the day-to-day activities of providing student health services under the supervision of the school nurse. The health room paraprofessional carries out tasks delegated by the school nurse, including giving medications and administering first aid, but does not make decisions that require the judgment of a nurse. The following statements are illustrative of the essential functions of the job and other key duties that may be required. The description may not include all functions performed by the incumbents in various locations. The district reserves the right to modify or change the duties or the essential functions of this job at any time. Reports consistently for work as scheduled Performs other duties as assigned Attains proficient or higher evaluations on established Performance Standards Administers and properly documents student medications Assists school nurse with maintenance of student immunization and health records Assists with maintenance of statistics for district and state health services reports Assists with screening for health conditions, such as head lice, rashes, etc. Carries out medical tasks in the school building as delegated by the school nurse Documents health services for Medicaid reimbursement Fulfills any additional medical tasks delegated by the school nurse Orders and stocks health room supplies Provides assistance and documents when students become ill at school, including parent notification Provides first aid and documents student injuries, including accident reports Reports all health/medical situations to the school nurse
