The teacher is responsible for running the Sweet Pea Program sessions according to the curriculum while nurturing the domestic and artistic life of the classroom. They must interact closely with children and caregivers to provide a secure, warm, and joyful atmosphere.
Description The Denver Waldorf School is seeking to fill the role of our Caregiver/Child Program Teacher for our Sweet Pea Program.
Candidates must be experienced in working with young children, in tandem with their caregivers, to inform and enrich the lives of these families with Waldorf and child development education.
Essential Functions The essential responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Running each session according to curriculum.
Interacting closely with the group of children and their caregivers.
Purchasing materials and supplies.
Nurturing and tending the domestic and artistic life of the classroom.
Caring for the greater classroom environment.
Supporting and providing an atmosphere of security, warmth, and joy.
The ideal candidate for this position will have: Waldorf Early childhood Education training. Capability of designing appropriate curriculum and program that represents The Denver Waldorf School and its ideals. The ability to work well in a collegial setting. The ability to communicate clearly and regularly with parents. The employee may need to be able to lift or move up to 20 pounds. Working Hours There will be three 8-week sessions of two classes each week. The classes will be from 8:30am -10:00am on days to be determined. There will be one session in the fall, one in the winter and one in the spring. Exact dates are yet to be determined.
