The Elementary Teacher Assistant (Non-Instructional) will provide general assistance and support to teachers and administration.
Support school operations. Effectively interact with students in such areas as problem solving, conflict resolution, self-discipline, etc. during non-class time. Supervise and support students in non-instructional areas such as student lunch programs, car line duty, crossing guard duty, actively monitoring recess, and transitions between classes and buildings. Regularly assist with student health, including administration of first aid. Provides support to homeroom teachers to include assigned clerical duties, grading, making copies, filing papers, changing bulletin boards, etc. May serve in a substitute role, when necessary, Support the school’s mission through fidelity to policies and practices. Work cooperatively with school staff and administration. This is a physically active role. Employees must be able to stand and walk for the entirety of an 8-hour shift. This position does not involve prolonged sitting.
