Gainesville Empowerment Zone Family Learning Center is seeking an enthusiastic and dependable educator to support our VPK classroom during the day and our Afterschool Program in the afternoon. This unique role offers the opportunity to work with both preschool and school-age children while becoming an important part of a collaborative team dedicated to helping every child thrive.

What You'll Do: Morning – VPK Classroom
Support the Lead Teacher in implementing engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences
Foster children's social-emotional growth and kindergarten readiness
Assist with classroom routines, supervision, centers, and transitions
Help create a positive, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
Afternoon – Afterschool Program
Supervise and engage school-age children in a safe, structured environment
Lead games, enrichment activities, outdoor play, and creative projects
Encourage positive relationships, teamwork, and respectful behavior
Support homework and academic enrichment as appropriate
Required: Experience working with young children in an early childhood or school-age setting
Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
A positive attitude, reliability, and a genuine passion for helping children learn and grow
Preferred: Florida VPK Credential (or willingness to obtain one)
DCF training completed or willingness to complete required coursework
Experience supporting classroom quality, mentoring children, or leading engaging learning activities
