The Learning Experience – South Lyon West is seeking a compassionate and dependable Infant Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with our youngest learners and wants to help create a warm, nurturing environment where infants feel safe, loved, and supported every day.
Working alongside an experienced Lead Teacher, you'll help provide individualized care while encouraging early developmental milestones through responsive interactions, sensory experiences, and age-appropriate activities.
What You'll Do: Assist the Lead Teacher in providing exceptional care for infants ages 6 weeks through 12 months
Support daily routines including feeding, diapering, naps, bottle preparation, and individualized care
Engage infants through sensory play, tummy time, music, books, and early developmental activities
Foster secure relationships by responding to each child's individual needs with patience and care
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom that meets Michigan childcare licensing requirements
Observe and celebrate developmental milestones while communicating daily updates with families
Work collaboratively with fellow teachers to create a positive and supportive classroom environment
Follow all health, safety, and licensing regulations
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required
Previous infant or childcare experience preferred
CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus, but not required
Patient, nurturing, and attentive to children's individual needs
Strong communication and teamwork skills
CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Must meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements
