The coach is responsible for leading the coed high school tennis team and ensuring student athletic development. They must maintain all required safety certifications and adhere to TSSAA/TMSAA health and safety policies.

Responsibilities

  • Non-faculty Coaches and Classified Employee Coaches must complete the NFHS “Fundamentals of Coaching” and “First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches” courses prior to assuming the position.
  • Coaches who have successfully completed the ASEP Coaches Education Course prior to May 15, 2013, will not be required to take the NFHS courses.
  • State Law (link- https://tssaa.org/health-safety-policies ) School Level AD should keep concussion Certificate- Copy on file every year.
  • School Level AD should keep Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certificate- Copy on file every year.
  • TSSAA/TMSAA (link- https://tssaa.org/health-safety-policies ) .
  • When applicable, completion of "Fundamentals of Coaching"- Copy on file.
  • When applicable, completion of "First Aid, Health, & Safety"- Copy on file.
  • NEW- When applicable, completion of “NFHS Heat Illness Prevention” course- Copy on file every year.
