The Afternoon Teaching Assistant provides care for 3-5 year olds in a childcare and preschool center environment. This job is located at the Family Wellness facility at 2700 46th Ave. SE in Mandan. Be a role model Assure that children receive proper feeding, playtime, learning activities, naps, and bathroom breaks Assure child safety by understanding and following safety and security procedures Observe children and communicate appropriately with Teachers and parents Attend and be an active participant at staff meetings

• Monday-Friday, 3:00 pm-6:00 pm QualificationsWe are looking for someone who displays the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Previous experience working in an early childhood setting preferred, but not required. Must have the ability to handle competing demands and take direction from the Teacher. Must have the ability to effectively communicate with parents and Teacher regarding the child's activities, behavior, eating, etc. CPR & First Aid Certification and Child Abuse prevention training courses must be completed within 90 days of hire and are provided by the YMCA. This position is open to candidates ages 14 and older. At the YMCA Youth Development Centers, we provide high-quality, values-oriented, state-licensed childcare and pre-school education. We have three locations in Bismarck Mandan--the Main YMCA on Washington Street, North location on Century Avenue and Mandan location inside the Family Wellness facility.
