About the role

Provide basic skills and GED preparation instruction to adult learners in both classroom and virtual environments. Maintain accurate attendance records and ensure compliance with federal and state Adult Education policies.

Northeast Community College is seeking a part-time ABE/GED Instructor in our Adult Education program.

The purpose of this position is to provide adult learners at Northeast Community College with instruction in basic skills, GED® preparation, and career pathway development. The instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in both classroom and virtual learning environments, including face-to-face classes and synchronous online instruction through Zoom. The position supports student achievement and persistence by creating engaging, learner-centered educational experiences that meet the diverse needs of adult learners. This position is also responsible for maintaining accurate records of attendance and instructional hours, monitoring student progress, and ensuring compliance with all federal and state Adult Education policies, regulations, and reporting requirements.

Day and night hours available. Day hours for this position are 9

  • 00 a.m.-12 p.m. Monday-Thursday.

Education

Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience

Adult teaching experience preferred.

Skills

Requires excellent communication skills, knowledge of computers and ability to learn and operate computer-based learning programs. Must be dedicated to student success and possess the ability to work with non-traditional and culturally diverse learners.

Requirements
