We are seeking an enthusiastic and dependable Middle School Girls Volleyball Intramural Coach to lead our 7th and 8th grade volleyball team. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with youth, enjoys teaching the fundamentals of volleyball, and creates a positive, encouraging environment where student-athletes can develop their skills, confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship. This is a seasonal position lasting approximately one month. Responsibilities Plan and lead engaging volleyball practices focused on skill development and teamwork. Teach fundamental volleyball skills, rules, and game strategies. Coach and supervise athletes during games. Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful team culture. Encourage good sportsmanship and character both on and off the court. Communicate effectively with players, parents, school staff, and athletic administrators. Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes during practices and competitions. Arrive prepared and on time for all practices and games. Serve as a positive role model and mentor for middle school students. Schedule Practices Mondays & Wednesdays 2:40 PM – 4:15 PM Games Tuesdays & Thursdays 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM Season Length Approximately one month Qualifications Previous volleyball playing or coaching experience preferred. Experience working with middle school-aged youth is preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to motivate and encourage student-athletes of all skill levels. Commitment to promoting teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship. Ability to pass any required background checks in accordance with school or district policies. Preferred Qualities Positive attitude and enthusiasm for youth sports. Dependable and punctual. Patient and encouraging teacher. Strong understanding of volleyball rules and fundamentals. Ability to build relationships with student-athletes while maintaining appropriate boundaries. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, demonstrate volleyball skills, and actively coach throughout practices and games. Ability to lift and carry volleyball equipment as needed.
