Responsibilities

How You Can Make a Real Impact: The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for planning, monitoring and implementing an instructional lesson plan, of high quality, that is in alignment with the NJ Student Learning Standards in all core subjects. Ability to make appropriate accommodations and modifications for students with multiple disabilities. Assess students’ individual abilities and create customized lessons plans Address specific Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and encourage skill-building Review IEPs to ensure goals are appropriate and recommend modifications Provide training for parents, in the classroom and at home Communicate with students, families, and guardians Hear From Real Employee, Sara, About Teaching at Bancroft

Qualifications

We’re Hiring Compassionate Team Members Who: Have a Bachelor’s degree Are eligible for teaching certification, such as “NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities” or “Teacher of the Handicapped” Are eligible for highly-qualified Teacher status Have effective teaching, facilitation, and communications skills

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree and be eligible for NJ teaching certifications such as Teacher of Students with Disabilities. Preferred candidates have at least one year of special education experience and knowledge of methods for physical and behavioral disabilities.
