Position Summary

Provides outside of the classroom instruction, writing and other academic support for students. Principal

Duties & Responsibilities

Tutors' students individually or in scheduled group study sessions to review principles, solve problems, review for tests, and provide positive and constructive feedback. Facilitates reading, writing, and academic skills labs and workshops to develop writing, math, word processing, study, and other academic skills. Maintains and updates confidential files and records, ensuring that ethical and legal guidelines are maintained. Utilize learning materials, textbooks, software, and equipment to facilitate tutoring; may design specific handouts, study, and related materials in collaboration with academic departments. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, & Other Attributes Bachelor’s degree required. Demonstrated knowledge in subject field. Highly effective interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Demonstrated proficiency with various software and technology tools, including learning management systems, scheduling platforms, and online communication tools. Experience working in an educational setting. Unusual Working Conditions Some evening and weekend hours may be necessary.
