Position Summary

The Test Proctor plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity and smooth administration of exams in the Testing Center. This position is responsible for ensuring that all testing procedures are followed, providing support to students with accommodations, and fostering a professional, secure, and inclusive testing environment. Principal

Duties & Responsibilities

Examinee Readiness Ensure all required check-in and security screening procedures are completed before students enter the testing room. Greet students and verify their identity. Provide exam details, including duration, assigned seating and permitted materials. Conduct security checks to ensure students do not possess unauthorized items. Proctoring & Exam Administration Maintain exam integrity by ensuring all procedures are followed and students are supported throughout testing. Verify student identities, confirm seating arrangements, and monitor students throughout the exam. Communicate time limits and provide periodic time updates. Maintain a quiet and controlled testing environment. Collaborate with the Testing Center Coordinators to address student questions and resolve issues. Keep records of test administration. Assist students with assistive technologies and testing platforms used in the testing center. Remain vigilant in monitoring multiple students for potential academic integrity violations, and document and report any suspected incidents to Testing Center coordinators in accordance with Testing Center policies. Materials Management & Testing Environment Ensure all materials and testing spaces are properly maintained. Maintain confidentiality of student information, including disabilities and accommodations. Safeguard testing materials, logs, and related documents. Distribute and replenish supplies such as pencils, pens, and scratch paper. Keep desks and testing areas clean, organized, and sanitized. Collect completed exams and verify all materials are accounted for through accurate counts. Return completed exams to instructors. All other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Attributes An Associate degree is required; Bachelor's degree is preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to remain alert for extended periods. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with basic computer systems and testing software preferred. Ability to read college-level exam questions verbally. Ability to follow detailed procedures and enforce policies consistently. Unusual Working Conditions Requires prolonged periods of sitting or standing while monitoring exams. Must maintain focus in a quiet, controlled testing environment. May involve interaction with students experiencing test-related stress. May require working during (7:45 AM-12 or 12-4 PM) or/and evening (4-7:30 PM) hours Will work 10-12 hours per week during the regular semester; Up to 20 hours are available during the regular semester for interested candidates, subject to change based on the needs of the University This job posting provides an overview of the role's general nature and expected tasks.
