JOB SUMMARY This paragraph summarizes the general nature, level and purpose of the job. The Professional Community Teacher is trained to teach in the variety of programs we offer in this department. This position sets up, teaches and evaluates curriculum, meets with families, both adults and children, establishes positive relationships between the hospital and the community through the vehicle of community education. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The essential functions listed are typical examples of work performed by positions in this job classification. Teaches curriculum in community classes that the hospital has established to present. These classes can be for expectant parents, new parents, grandparents, preteens and their parents and older adolescents.
Answers curriculum questions of class participants as well refer them to other resources including the resources of the hospital/enterprise.
Trains to stay current with information necessary for the accuracy of class content in keeping with standards of the hospital.
Prepares classroom set-up, a-v, resource materials to the enhance class experience.
Attends meetings necessary to stay abreast of current hospital information and program information.
Works with the community at large to represent the hospital.
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Associates' Degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university

Pay Range Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role. Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.
