  • Summary: This position reports to and is evaluated by the high school principal. The high school classroom teacher prayerfully helps students learn subject matter, skills, and behavior that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christian men and women to the praise and glory of God. Required Professional Qualities Bachelor’s degree in secondary education or related field; or willingness to participate in a program to complete such a degree within a specified period. Learning Plans and students’ Accommodation Plans, and for the faithful implementation of all documented accommodations, modifications, and specialized services within their classroom, including modifying instructional content, process, and products to ensure students with learning differences can access the general education curriculum. The Teacher will work collaboratively with special education staff to implement, monitor, and document the progress of students towards their Learning Plan goals and Accommodation Plans, respectively. Administrative Leadership Adheres to all policies and procedures governing the operation of the school Keep proper discipline in the classroom, at school-sponsored activities, and on the school premises for an effective learning environment Arrange for substitute teachers by placing notice in Frontline when needed, and assist them in successfully carrying out their responsibilities Respect professional ethics that require confidentiality concerning the sharing of information about children, parents, or staff Attends and arrives punctually to scheduled devotional, committee, and faculty meetings Attends and carries out effective parent-teacher conferences Maintains regular and accurate attendance and grade records Proactively communicates with parents and administrators Maintains professional dress and appearance as specified in the Employee Handbook Represents the school favorably and professionally to its constituency Complete and maintain ACSI certifications annually Additional Duties or Responsibilities Attends high school events such as open houses, etc. Works co-curricular concessions/gate 2 times a year @ the rate of $10/hour Maintains a clean, attractive, well-ordered classroom Participates in the end-of-year closing of the school process, such as inventorying of textbooks, furniture, equipment, etc. Treats all school-owned technology (hardware and software) with respect, care, professionalism, and in accordance with the Technology Use Agreement Community Building Opportunities Support the broader program of the school by attending extracurricular activities when possible. (Back to School Worship night, Big Bash, school trips, drama production, athletic events, band performances, Fine Arts night, etc.) Qualifications

Requirements

Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in secondary education or a related field and possess an ACSI or state teaching certificate. A strong Christian testimony and commitment to the school's Statement of Faith and Core Values are required.
