This is a part-time, non-tenure track position supporting the Sister Mary Joseph Cunningham Library’s Reference Services. On Call Librarians work as part of our team of librarians providing outstanding reference services to the GCU Community, while maintaining effective library operations.
On Call Librarians are scheduled for regular evening and/or weekend shifts during the Fall and Spring semesters, as well as some daytime hours when needed.
Provide reference service and assistance to students and faculty members in finding and evaluating library materials and relevant resources face to face and online using LibChat.
Provide specialized research assistance to students and faculty as needed.
In the absence of full-time librarians and the Access Services Generalist, the On Call Librarian is responsible for the overall supervision of library operations and the library building.
At times, will be responsible for the timely opening and closing of the library as scheduled.
Perform other duties as assigned to maintain effective library operations and support student success.

Requires an ALA-accredited MLS or equivalent master's degree. Candidates should be proficient in library resources, information literacy methods, and educational software.
