Job Description

Sign Language Instructors provide sign language instruction to children/students who are either Deaf, Hard of Hearing or hearing but utilize sign language to communicate.

Instructors work with families or staff and peers in their homes or in school/childcare settings.

Sign language instruction services are included in a child’s One Plan or 504/IEP.

Services will be provided in person in Vermont.

Coverage area will be White River Jct. to Brattleboro.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent: ASL fluency

Experience

Experience teaching sign language

Experience working with children, families and teachers

Requirements

Candidates must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and fluency in ASL. Experience teaching sign language and working with children, families, and teachers is also required.
