Description The Youth Program Coach is a year-round position responsible for running All Sport Athlete and other Youth Programming classes in a kid-oriented, professional and engaging manner.
These classes consist of many sports that are geared toward children from ages 3-12.
NOTE: Because this position will involve routine interaction with children, all candidates must successfully obtain the following clearances PRIOR to beginning employment: PA State Police criminal history record, PA Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI Fingerprint-based criminal history clearance.

Essential Job Functions Set-up and tear down of all field space Taking and returning all needed athletic supplies and equipment from storage areas Explaining all rules and regulations of each sport Must be comfortable leading and maintaining the attention of various aged children through various Youth Programming classes Keeping class on schedule to maximize benefit to children and guests Greet and welcome parents and children in a warm, friendly, and timely manner Maintain and monitor a safe and healthy environment for children to play Professionally handling any behavior issues that may arise during the class Must be prepared to be interactive and hands on with kids
Basic Qualifications Background in youth programming and coaching with general knowledge about a variety of sports Previous experience working with children in an activity, camp, workshop, or coaching setting Current CPR/AED certification Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field or current enrollment in a Bachelor’s Degree program and 2 years of experience working with children 18 years of age or older Dependable transportation to and from work Language skills: Fluent knowledge of the English language; including the ability to read and interpret written information and speak and understand verbal communication Ability to fulfill the physical requirements of the position with any reasonable accommodations as necessary Availability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as needed Authorized to work in the United States Highly dependable with a history of consistent attendance and punctuality Demonstrates a positive and friendly attitude towards guests, customers, and fellow employees. Physical requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be regularly required to perform physical activity that includes moving about the work area, standing, sitting, bending, reaching with hands and arms, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, hearing and smelling. The team member will be frequently required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. He or she is required to have the visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
