Hemlock Public School District is seeking a student-centered, relationship-driven professional to serve as an MTSS/Behavior Specialist at K.C.
Ling Elementary School.
This position will support students’ behavioral, social, emotional, and academic success through prevention, early intervention, targeted support, and data-informed decision-making.
Working under the direction of the building principal, the MTSS/Behavior Specialist will provide classroom instruction, facilitate small-group interventions, support individual students, and help coordinate the building’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports.
This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working directly with students, partnering with teachers, and helping children develop the skills they need to succeed.

Scope of the Position
This is a student-support position and is not a clinical counseling or building administrator role. The MTSS/Behavior Specialist will not diagnose or treat mental-health conditions, conduct special education evaluations, provide IEP-mandated counseling or social-work services unless appropriately credentialed, supervise or evaluate employees, or serve as the building’s formal disciplinary administrator.

A bachelor's degree in education, psychology, or a related field is required, along with successful experience working with elementary students. Preferred qualifications include a Michigan teaching certificate and experience with PBIS or trauma-informed practices.
