Job Description

An athletic coach with Douglas County School District will be charged with the organization and implementation of a successful program. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to develop a competitive program that is committed to the creation of student athletes who demonstrate a commitment to academics, strong fundamental skills, and sportsmanship. The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with administrators, teachers, coaches, sponsors, students, parents, and members of the community to ensure that the school stands out with pride for our community. Position Summary

The Assistant Cheer Coach supports the Head Cheer Coach in developing and maintaining a competitive, positive, and student-centered cheer program. This position is responsible for assisting with athlete development, program organization, communication, administrative tasks, fundraising, and promoting the ThunderRidge Cheer program while upholding the values and regulations of CHSAA, Douglas County School District, and ThunderRidge High School. Duties and Responsibilities

Assist and help Coach at practices, camps, and clinics. Support athlete development in leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, and accountability. Attend practices, football games, some basketball games, competitions, camps, and other team events. Foster an inclusive, respectful, and positive team culture. Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes on and off TR campus Support Communication & Program promotion Fundraising & Community Engagement Leadership & Professional Expectations

Qualifications

Previous cheerleading experience required Previous coaching experience preferred, but not required Strong organizational and communication skills. Strong listening skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Ability to be at practices 3:30-5:30pm during the week, ability to be at football and basketball games, weekend competitions (these competitions start at the end of October and run through the beginning of February. There are about 8 competitions.) Ability to spot tumbling preferred but not required

Requirements

Previous cheerleading experience is required, while coaching experience and tumbling spotting skills are preferred. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to work specific weekday and weekend schedules.
