Recreation leader (Part-Time school year position)

Sonoma County Family YMCA | $18.21-$19.21 per hour

Sites Located In: Rohnert Park, Sebastopol, Santa Rosa

Are you passionate about working with children and creating fun, meaningful experiences that help young people thrive? The Sonoma County Family YMCA is seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and caring individuals to join our team as a Recreation Leader for our before and after school childcare program.

This is a part-time school year position supporting elementary-aged youth in a safe, engaging, and enriching environment. We're especially interested in candidates who are available Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM and 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, as these are the core operating hours of our programs.

What you'll do: As a Recreation Leader, you'll help create a fun, safe, and enriching environment for school-age children by:

✅ Leading creative and engaging activities, games, crafts, and enrichment programs

✅ Supervising children and ensuring their safety, well-being, and positive experience

✅ Supporting homework, literacy development, and academic success

✅ Building positive relationships with children, families, and fellow team members

✅ Assisting with family events, special programs, and community activities

✅ Helping maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming program environment

✅ Serving as a positive role model who reflects YMCA values every day

✅ Contributing to a collaborative, supportive team culture

  • Ability to successfully complete DOJ and FBI background clearance, including sex offender screening
