About the role

Assist the Head Coach in managing all aspects of the Men's and Women's Swimming program, including coaching practices and competitions. Handle administrative duties such as recruitment, travel organization, and monitoring student-athlete academic progress.

Batten University, a NCAA Division III institution and a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, is accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant for Men’s and Women's Swimming. Batten University is located in Virginia Beach, VA, and sponsors 24 varsity sports teams, supporting almost 500 student-athletes.

The position reports to the Head Men's and Women's Swimming Coach. The individual will assist with all aspects of the Men's and Women's Swimming program including recruitment of quality student-athletes, scheduling, managing and coaching competitions/meets, planning, as well as conducting practices. This individual will also be organizing team travel, monitoring student-athletes’ academic progress, equipment maintenance, fundraising and other administrative duties assigned by the Head Coach. Additionally, a thorough understanding of and accountability to NCAA, Old Dominion Athletic Conference and institutional rules and regulations is necessary.

This is a graduate assistant position.

A Bachelor’s degree is required.

Tuition remission for graduate programs is included as well as a stipend.

Preference will be given to applicants with collegiate coaching experience and/or experience as a collegiate student-athlete in swimming.

Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable by the college’s auto insurance carrier.
