Healthy Kids Programs is hiring School Age Childcare Assistants for our Before and After School Programs at Marian E. McKeown Elementary School in Newton, NJ for the 2026–2027 school year.
Employer-Paid Childcare Healthy Kids Programs provides childcare for children (ages 5–12) enrolled in our program on the days and during the hours you work. Position Responsibilities The Before and After School Program team is responsible for: Facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion. Providing a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program. Observing state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies. Certain positions may also perform management functions such as accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing.
Requirements: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma and/or 1 year of childcare experience preferred but not required
Candidates must successfully pass all required state background checks. Requires the ability to meet physical demands, including bending, stretching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds, and actively engaging with energetic children. The ideal candidate demonstrates a positive, professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills when working with children, families, and colleagues, along with a consistent record of reliability and punctuality.
